Bye My Lil Puppy

Bye My Lil Puppy, I miss you everyday
I miss your bark, your loyalty, and the time we had to play
I miss your warmth sleeping at my feet , I miss giving you your doggy treat
I miss our walks, I miss our talks, I miss the sound of your running feet

Bye My Lil Puppy, I loved you everyday
You never wore a collar; you were special in that way
I remember our last day, you never left my side
I figured something was wrong, but you did not go and hide

Then when evening came, the pain came as well
I put you to bed one last time to hear that morning bell
I didn’t sleep a wink that night knowing what was to come
I hugged my lil puppy tighter than I‘ve hugged anyone

When the morning alarm went off, I cried as I got dressed
You stepped up into the truck I could tell you were so stressed
As we took the ride, you licked the tears as they ran down upon my face
As I looked at you it pained me so, but I would see that you die with grace

When the Doctor asked if I was ready, I quickly shouted NO
But I said, it would be selfish of me, if I didn’t let him go
As he stuck the needle in, I held my puppy fast
I felt his big old head drop, his life left us at last

I know he’s in a better place and doesn’t suffer anymore
It doesn’t seem to help me tho I miss him more and more
There’s not a day I wish and pray I’ll see him once again
I hope to pick him up at Rainbow Bridge when God calls me home to him

Rainbow Bridge

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.  There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals that had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.  The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together…Author Unknown

When God calls little puppies to dwell with Him above,
We humans always question the wisdom of His love.
For no heartache can compare with the loss of one small 'child',
Who does so much to make this world seem wonderful and mild.
Perhaps God tires - always calling the aged to His fold,
And so He picks a Rosebud before it can grow old.
God knows how much we need them and so He picks but few;
To make the land of heaven more beautiful to view.
Believing this is difficult, yet somehow we must try,
For the saddest word that mankind knows will always be "good-bye".
And so when little pups depart; We, who are left behind,
realize how much God loves puppies....For angels are hard to find.

Creation of Dog

When God made the earth and sky,
The flowers and the trees,
He then made all the animals
And all the birds and bees.
And when His work was finished,
Not one was quite the same,
He said, "I'll walk this earth of mine
And give each one a name."
And so He traveled land and sea,
And everywhere He went,
A little creature followed Him,
Until its strength was spent.
When all were named upon the earth,
And in the sky and sea,
The little creature said, "Dear Lord,
There is not one left for me."
The Father smiled and softly said,
"I've left you to the end,
I've turned my own name back to front,
And call you DOG, my friend."

I only wanted You

They say memories are golden
well maybe that is true.
I never wanted memories,
I only wanted you.

A million times I needed you,
a million times I cried.
If love alone could have saved you
you never would have died.

In life I loved you dearly,
In death I love you still.
In my heart you hold a place
no one could ever fill.

If tears could build a stairway
and heartache make a lane,
I'd walk the path to heaven
and bring you back again.

Our family chain is broken,
and nothing seems the same.
But as God calls us one by one,
the chain will link again.

Member of the Family (Furry Pets)

What would I do without you,
My precious Furry Friend?
Part mischief, but all blessing,
and faithful to the end!
You look at me with eyes of love,
You never hold a grudge,
You think I'm far too wonderful
To criticize or judge.
It seems your greatest joy in life
Is being close to me,
I think God knew how comforting
Your warm, soft fur would be.
I know you think you're human,
But I'm glad it isn't true,
The world would be a nicer place
If folks were more like you.
A few short years are all we have,
One day we'll have to part,
But you, my pet, will always have
A place within my heart.

To Love Again (Feline Friends)

Oh what unhappy twist of fate
Has brought you homeless to my gate,
The gate where once another stood
To beg for shelter warmth and food?

For from that day I ceased to be
The master of my destiny,
While she, with purr and velvet paw
Became within my house the law.

She scratched the furniture and shed
And claimed the middle of my bed,
She ruled in arrogance and pride
And broke my heart the day she died.

So if you really think, oh cat
I'd willingly relive all that,
Because you come forlorn and thin
Well don't just stand there - come on in!

Heaven's Doggy Door

My best friend closed his eyes last night,
As his head lay in my hand.
The doctors said he was in pain,
And it was hard for him to stand.
The thoughts that scurried through my head,
As I cradled him in my arms,
Were of his younger puppy years,
And Oh... his many charms.
Today there was no gentle nudge,
With an intense "I love you" gaze.
Only a heart that's filled with tears,
Remembering our joy filled days.
But an Angel just appeared to me,
And said, "You should cry no more,
God also loves our canine friends,
He's installed a doggy door!"

Dearest Friend

I lost my dearest friend today,
No finer could be found.
My love for you is utmost true,
It has no endless bound.
So hard to say,
"Good bye" to you,
Forever, trusting friend,
I'll keep you in my memories,
I promise till the end.

Treasured Friend

I lost a treasured friend today,
The little dog who used to lay
Her gentle head upon my knee
And share her silent thoughts with me.

She'll come no longer to my call,
Retrieve no more her favorite ball.
A voice far greater than my own
Has called her to His golden throne.

And though my eyes are filled with tears,
I thank Him for the happy years
He let her spend down here with me
And for her love and loyalty.

Don't Grieve Too Long

Don't grieve too long, for now I'm free.
I've followed the path God has set for me.
I ran to Him when I heard His Call.
I swished my tail and left it all.
I could not stay another day,
To bark, to love, to romp or play.
Games left unplanned must stay that way.
I found such peace, it made my day.
My parting has left you with a void.
Please fill it with remembered joy,
A friendship shared, your laugh, a kiss.
Oh yes, these things I too shall miss.
Be not burdened with times of sorrow.
I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow.
My life has been full, you've given so much,
Your time, your love and gentle touch.
Perhaps my time seemed all too brief.
Don't lengthen it now with undue grief.
Lift up your head and share with me,
God wanted me, He set me free!
